Barrels Take First Matchup with Oregon, 40-17

The Kentucky Barrels picked up another important road victory on Sunday night, defeating the Oregon Lightning 40-17 at First Interstate Bank Center. Kentucky controlled the game from the opening drive and never gave up the lead. So exciting to improve to 6-2 on the inaugural season!
Kentucky got off to a strong start and never looked back. The Barrels found the end zone on their opening drive and continued to build their lead throughout the first half. Defensively, Kentucky kept Oregon out of the end zone and limited the Lightning to just two points before halftime, helping the Barrels take a 19-2 lead into half time.
The Barrels kept control of the game in the second half, building a 33-10 lead after three quarters and stretching it to 40-10 before the final whistle.
Despite a late score from Oregon, Kentucky remained firmly in control and secured the 40-17 victory. The win marks another strong performance for the Barrels as they continue their push through the second half of the season!
The Barrels will now prepare as they welcome the Oregon Lightning to Truist Arena on Saturday, June 13. After taking the first meeting on the road, Kentucky will look to defend its home field and continue its winning momentum in front of Barrels Nation! We are looking forward to being back at home this weekend.
