Barrels Sign Luke Bailey as First Player in Team History
The Kentucky Barrels are excited to announce the signing of the first player in team history. Luke Bailey is signing with the Barrels for the 2026 season.
"Luke is what we're building this organization with. Football is important to him," said Head Coach Cedric Walker. "He's a great character kid, has great football intelligence, and he's definitely a winner."
Luke measures in at 6-2 and weighs in at 190 pounds. He earned All-Pioneer Football League First Team honors in 2024, earned the PFL Offensive Player of the Week, and was named to the Walter Payton Award Watchlist during 2024. As a three-sport athlete in high school, Luke brings a high degree of athleticism to the table.
Bailey played four seasons at Drake University, where he threw for 6,231 yards and 39 touchdowns in 33 games. He worked to improve every season and had a career-best 63% completion percentage in 2024. During the 2024 campaign, he also added two 300+ yard games and six multi-touchdown games as well.
That 2024 season saw Bailey and the Bulldogs win the Pioneer Football League and play national powerhouse Tarelton State tough in the FCS Playoffs.
"It's truly a blessing to be able to continue my football career," said Luke Bailey. "I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to play at the next level, and even more thankful that I get to do it with the Kentucky Barrels. I'm ready to give it everything I've got and make the most of this opportunity."
Luke Bailey and the Kentucky Barrels are bringing professional football to Kentucky and will kick off their 2026 season this spring at Truist Arena! Season Tickets are now on Sale and can be purchased via Truist Arena.
